Get On Board
Board Matching Program
About Get On Board
As part of its REALIZE Board training program, the United Way of El Paso County is pilot testing a board matching program. Called Get On Board, the program connects young professionals who graduate from REALIZE Board Training with established, regional nonprofits. In this pilot phase, the goal is to match young professionals to nonprofits in need of new board members.
Applications will be reviewed by a committee, and they will submit up to three matches for each nonprofit by November 30th. The leadership team (chief executive and board chair) of each nonprofit should meet with each match (online or in-person) to determine the best fit for the organization. Nonprofits need to submit two finalists to the United Way by December 20th. Once final submissions are reviewed, all matches will be announced on January 13th, 2023. Due to a variety of factors and needs, it’s possible that not all nonprofits and young professionals will be matched.
